In 2020, Chomba Kaluba moved from Maine to Portland, Oregon at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, arriving without a job after years of transforming frontline childcare organizations across the United States and Haiti.
In a moment when the world needed more hope and connection, he created Energy Iz Everything—a brand rooted in gratitude, hope, and optimism.
With mentorship from Ryonet Inc., he turned a one-bedroom apartment into a screen printing studio, growing the brand to over 10,000 garments distributed nationwide and a storefront in downtown Portland in 2022. After 2.5 years, rising safety challenges in the city led to the store’s closure—a season of loss and redirection.
In 2025, he introduced Hatua to inspire and celebrate the milestones that shape our journeys, while Energy Iz Everything continues as its parent brand.
